EAAA Careers

We are immensely proud to have been listed as one of the Best Places to Work in the 2023 The Sunday Times awards. These awards recognise the very best organisations with consistently high levels of positive employee experience in the UK today, while also celebrating success, excellence, workplace engagement and commitment to employees.

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) was also awarded top spot in the charity list in the Best Companies list (2021), as well as several regional accolades for being an employer of choice. All that is a result of recruiting the best people for our organisation.

I never thought I would be lucky enough to land my dream job twice in a lifetime (former holiday rep) but I did! Since starting in Feb 2020 I was welcomed with open arms into the EAAA family whose emphasis is on the importance of getting the work life balance right. I am given the autonomy to run with my ideas and love to get involved with all the activities that are arranged internally. There is so much scope to develop in my role and to progress in my career – what more could you want from a job?!

It’s not often people say they look forward to going to work, but I do! Working at EAAA is unlike any job I have previously had; there is so much that makes it a unique place. Firstly, working for a charity that genuinely makes a difference is so rewarding. Every penny goes towards a good cause and, working in the Fundraising and Supporters team, you get to hear so many amazing stories about how your team is making a difference in the wider community. Secondly, the people and the culture within the charity are so welcoming and supportive. Everyone is working towards the same goal, meaning that we all help each other and work hard to achieve the charity’s ambitions. I am so grateful that I get to say I work for East Anglian Air Ambulance. I am proud to be a part of such an excellent organisation.

I work and live in the East of England and had experienced the work EAAA does when working locally. I was aware of the of the critical care EAAA provide to patients when they need it most and had seen the benefits and professional service they provide, which was always impressive. Therefore, when the opportunity to work for EAAA arose, I had to apply. Since starting at EAAA I have been welcomed into a fantastic team, where every day I am able to work with great pilots, paramedics and other doctors. In my time so far, I have learned a lot about pre-hospital emergency medicine and have been to reach critically injured and unwell people on the worst day of their lives and make it better; for them and their family. Aside from the clinical work, I have an appreciation for all the work that occurs to allow us the privilege of delivering critical care, and I have also had opportunities to join in with the wider charity team at various events. EAAA is a fantastic place to work, and I would recommend to anyone.

Our Culture and Values

We operate with total patient focus. This is best encapsulated through our staff days, where we gather centrally throughout the year to share successes and hear directly from patients on how our work has made a difference to them and their families.

EAAA is an organisation that cares for its staff, its patients, its volunteers, its donors, the environment and the community it serves. To play our part in this, we should demonstrate:

  • Reasoned – Our actions and decisions are evidence based and with others’ views in mind
  • Accountable – We accept ownership and deliver on that acceptance
  • Integrity – We are honest and ethical
  • Synergy – We work with others to create a better outcome
  • Evolution – We are constantly working to improve
